Two listings for an iPhone or Mac can look similar while offering different products or terms. When buying Apple products in Spain, start with the full specification and the final cost. A tempting discount is less useful if the device has the wrong storage, keyboard or purchase conditions.
Identify the exact device
Write down the model, generation, memory, storage and condition: new, used or refurbished. For a laptop, confirm the physical keyboard layout; changing the software language does not change the printed keys. For an imported phone, request the regional model reference and check the manufacturer’s specifications for features you need.
Keep a copy of the listing and ask for unclear details in writing. “Like new” does not explain the device’s history, battery condition or included accessories.
Compare the amount you will actually pay
- The final price including tax and delivery to your address.
- The seller named on the invoice and its contact details.
- Confirmed stock and delivery times.
- Return conditions and any associated costs.
- Included accessories and optional services added to the order.
A shop’s name is not evidence of a tax exemption. Nor should you assume an imported device will cost less overall. Calling a retailer Spain’s cheapest would require a dated comparison of identical products and conditions.
Separate statutory and commercial warranties
Apple explains that consumer purchases in Spain from 1 January 2022 have three years of statutory protection against lack of conformity. If another retailer sold the product, statutory claims normally go to that seller, with legal conditions for approaching the manufacturer. Apple’s commercial warranty is additional.
That does not mean every fault, accident or instance of wear qualifies for free repair. Keep the invoice, description and correspondence. Check the applicable terms separately for used equipment or a business purchase.
A comparison you can make in ten minutes
For the same model reference, create three columns: total cost, conditions and unanswered questions. Resolve important gaps before paying. This guide replaces earlier promotional claims about prices, tax and after-sales service with checks you can apply to individual offers.
