The 2024 article called five cars “the best” without describing a common test or scoring method. The models are retained as an editorial archive selection, while that ranking has been removed. For a purchase today, identify the exact version and model year: a current specification may describe a different vehicle from one sold in 2024.
The five models and what to check
Tesla Model Y
This is an electric SUV. Check the exact configuration and its associated range figure. Tesla notes that real range varies with factors including speed and weather. Its assistance systems require driver supervision; do not purchase on the assumption that future autonomous driving is guaranteed.
Volkswagen ID.4 GTX
Volkswagen’s October 2023 update identified the GTX as an all-wheel-drive version rated at 250 kW. That specification has a date and version context. For a used car, request its own documentation and equipment list rather than automatically applying today’s configurator details.
Ford Mustang Mach-E
Ford’s electric range distinguishes different versions, including GT. Compare equivalent battery and drivetrain configurations to understand which price differences concern equipment and which concern the powertrain.
Lucid Air
This is an electric saloon, unlike the SUV layout of other entries here. An international website does not, by itself, establish sales and service arrangements in Spain. Before considering an import, request country-specific information on delivery, warranty, assistance and documentation.
Polestar 3
A technical specification for Spain is now published. The old description of a vehicle still awaiting detailed information has been removed. Compare the actual car’s motors, dimensions, luggage capacity and options, particularly when considering different model years.
Compare journeys, not just maximum figures
Record your usual distance, parking arrangements and available charging. Compare range under the same measurement procedure rather than treating WLTP and EPA figures as interchangeable. For rapid charging, check the battery interval and test conditions instead of looking only at peak power.
Arrange a practical trial around your priorities: rear-seat access, luggage, visibility, controls and comfort. Separate purchase cost, charging installation, electricity, insurance and maintenance. Use quotes identified by date and configuration.
Limits of this selection
We have not driven these five vehicles in a common comparison test. Absolute sustainability praise, promises of future capabilities and range claims without an identified version have been removed. The links provide manufacturer documentation; they do not guarantee availability or the lowest price.
