Start with the complete reference
Record the number, part, year and publisher. A broad keyword search can return documents with different scopes, drafts still under development or earlier editions. Read the title and available scope description, then compare them with the reference requested by your customer or technical lead.
Resolve an unclear request before ordering. “We need the quality standard” does not tell purchasing which document to obtain or what work the receiving team expects to perform.
Check the access arrangement
Genorma’s terms distinguish downloading, online reading and subscription services, with different usage conditions. Do not assume an individual purchase allows company-wide file sharing. Read the current terms and ask about multi-user access where necessary.

Make the purchase useful to your team
